Plugin Installation {e~#6.$:  
The hairfx plugin consists of the files hairfx.dlu, hairfxExport.h and hairfxRef.hlp. There’s also the CompShadow.dlo file which contains the standalone Composite Shadow Generator plugin. The MAX 7 and later versions of the plugin also include the files hairfx.mi and hairfx_mr.dll, they work as a connection to the mental ray renderer. There are no loading dependencies between any of the plugin DLL files, they can be loaded by MAX in any order. To install the plugin, all that needs to be done is put hairfx.dlu and CompShadow.dlo somewhere on the MAX plugin path, e.g. \3dsmax\plugins. Another option is to place them in a separate folder, e.g. \3dsmax\plugins\hairfx and add that folder to the [Directories] section of the \3dsmax\plugin.ini file, like this: s;e%*4
